Eckerson Design Associates LLC (EDA) was founded in 1997 to provide clients with landscape architectural services from feasibility studies and master-planning through site specific design and detailing. Bringing more than 50 years of professional experience to the firm, principals Alice and Bruce Eckerson have a proven track record of creating landscapes that blend harmoniously with the built and natural environments. This wealth of experience and a solid reputation for creativity and personal service are the foundations of the firm’s success.
Eckerson Design Associates LLC is located in South Norwalk, Connecticut where there is an active and vibrant design community. The office is within walking distance of the South Norwalk Metro-North Railroad Station and a quick five minute drive to Exit 16 on Interstate 95.
The office is comprised of a staff of four professionals, three of which are licensed Landscape Architects in the State of Connecticut. Mr. Eckerson is also licensed in the State of New York and is CLARB certified which allows him to quickly receive licensure in any state through reciprocity.
The principals have been recognized with numerous design awards from the ASLA, the Connecticut Chapter of the ASLA (CTASLA) and the Connecticut AIA (AIA/CT). Their projects have also appeared in books, local and national design magazines.
Bruce and Alice have also been instructors in the Landscape Design Certificate Program at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York. Courses they have taught include Site Analysis and Schematic Design, Grading, Design and Construction, Sketching, Principles of Design and Construction Estimating.
Eckerson Design Associates provides design services for high-end residential projects, real estate developers, non-profit, educational and religious institutions. Through the initial master-planning process the goals and needs of the Firm’s clients are organized into a coherent and aesthetically appropriate design vision. This vison is then carefully refined through the design and construction process ultimately into built form. The end results are beautiful and functional outdoor spaces that enrich the lives of those who inhabit or use them.
